The title of this acrylic painting on paper, inspired by a work by George Barbier depicting Vaslav Nijinsky, means Fewer balls and more ballet! For me, the idea was to evoke the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but also, more generally, man's warmongering attitude. I dream of a world in which men would be artists and poets, rather than warriors.

I am a French plastic artist. I have been painting and sculpting since my early childhood. I studied liberal arts at Valenciennes. I started to take up the theme of tenderness between males when I was a teenager. I was in need of positive representations of homosexuality. It was difficult to obtain such images of homosexuality during that period, especially from a middle class family in the North of France. Homosexuality was still very much taboo. It is less so today. However, I love evoking on the only thing that truly matters: the love, the serenity, the togetherness, the confidence, the alterity, the pleasure of being together, and the full-blown pleasure of love.
