About The Artwork
The fashion of Alexander McQueen inspired this work. I used the burn technique make it a figure painting, but not a painting of a person. This is a good example of using abstract elements to stand in for reality. The beauty of the model, and the fashion as well, are in flux. It almost looks like the whole thing could fall apart. I like the darkness implied, especially considering the seedy side of the fashion industry and the tragedy of McQueens end.
