About The Artwork

Life on the Thames One day walking along the river Thames in London on a beautiful sunny day. Forget about the world, the whole violence of it. Enjoy the calm and the peace of the day. The whole series about rivers is about that: the peace, calm and quiet environment to get rid of sombre thoughts, to escape the brutal reality that surrounds us. I don’t want to represent the life as it is, I intentionally avoid it. In this painting I deliberately worked with bright exaggerated colours. The painting uses the four elements, these are very important to me because without the combination to all of these we couldn’t survive: it’s our link to life. Air: represented by the sky; symbol of freedom and breathing in an oppressive world. Water: The river. The symbol of the water is very important to me, it represents the peace, the calm that you feel when swimming, with a feeling of security. The sun represented by the yellow dry lawn: origin of life, heath, happiness, positive thoughts. Hearth: the house made of brick as a symbol to reality and attachment to the planet. Our house, protection, family. The sides of the paintings are painted. The painting is protected by a bright varnish to enhance the colors.

French figurative painter known for bold colourful urban landscapes. Member of society of SALON D'AUTOMNE Paris Member of the Taylor Foundation, Paris Feb. 2023 PARIS (salon Les Artistes Français) March 2023 : LONDON :THE OTHER ART FAIR August 2023: TOKYO ART CENTER, JAPAN Born in the outskirts of Paris. I live and work in Paris suburbs. Living in a big city for half my life has influenced my work. I have a fascination for cities: noisy, overwhelming and lively, yet hiding people loneliness. I paint mostly urban landscapes: the interiors (shops, cafe, theatre house) full of details and colourful with very few details for the people: they are just part of the scenery. I’ve worked for the theatre for ten years and that experience gave me a love of colours, of framing my subject a certain way. I’m not looking for the exact repliqua of the reality but for an emotion I want to convey in my paintings through colors. My work is made of lots of layers of acrylic on a canvas, quick rough brush strokes and vivid colours. I use acrylic because it’s a medium that corresponds to my character: I’m impatient and this material suits me for it allows my painting a speed, a raw aspect, sometimes violent; I work in a kind of urgency.
