Portrait of Partenope, the mermaid that was thrown into water and stranded on the golf of Naples where there is now the Castel dell'Ovo. She is venerated as a protector for the city of Naples and one of its most famous symbols. The Italian artist Alessandro Siviglia often depicts her and other mythologic characters in his figurative artworks. He enjoys bringing the Italian culture and history on canvas to express his love and devotion for this land.

I was born in 1982 in Salerno, Italy, where I grew up as well. I visited the Art Institute "Filiberto Menna”. In my teenage years I started as a street artist, using sprays to express myself upon the walls of my home town. In 2008 I went abroad and spent two years in Spain, where I actually started to paint on canvas. 2010 I went back to Italy and lived in different cities, like Milan, Salerno and Rome.
