Korber was Born in Brooklyn,New York His fascination with line started while studying anatomy of the human body during his years at Pratt Institute - while studying under Joseph Montalvo. Dissecting of cadavers in Columbia University gave Korber a true in-depth study of human anatomy. The Years that followed Korber had lived and set up Ateliers in Palm Beach - FL, Praha - Czech Republic, Hundheim - Germany and Ta'Qali- Malta. He is currently living and working in the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. Korber is a deeply observant storyteller of human soul which he expresses through masterful distortion of human anatomy. On his canvases the line meets color in the exploding, dynamic dance of emotions... a common denominator to all of humanity and the very thing that makes each of us unique. The works of Michael Korber represent his unique figurative-abstract style, trademarked by the affection for dynamic motion of line and color. The title "Pyrotechnic Iconographism" was bestowed upon Korber's distinct style by Dame Françoise Tempra (art historian and president-founder of the Malta International Biennale). Korber's artistic vision is expressed trough wide range of mediums like: oil on canvas, ink on linen, drawings on paper, and monumental concrete, steel or bronze sculptures.
