About The Artwork

This Painting is depicted from Shahnameh ( book of Kings). The Shahnameh (Book of Kings) is the national epic of Iran, composed by the poet Ferdowsi between 980 and 1010 AD. It tells the story of ancient Persia beginning in the mythic time of Creation and progressing to the Arab-Islamic invasion of the country in the seventh century; it is structured according to the mythical and historical reign of 50 Persian Kings of antiquity. The Shahnameh is a medieval epic, written by the poet Abolqasem Ferdowsi, and was completed after thirty-three years, in the early 11th Century, in order to preserve the myths, legends, history, language, and culture of ancient Persia… It was written at a time when modern Persian had started to flourish and the structures and standards for the language were being set. It is not only a literary masterpiece, but also a book that has for centuries helped define Iran and the Iranian peoples, as well as safeguard the existence of the Persian language. Here is the link to this love story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bijan_and_Manijeh In 2019 I began researching on the epic poems of the Shahnameh (Book of Kings) by the renowned 11th century Persian poet Ferdowsi, and began painting my collection. In my collection, I use acrylic medium, creating a new style that blends classical, contemporary and miniature works of art, so that a new generation may find through this link in my work, a different narrative reminiscent of the Shahnameh. There're 2 parts to this painting, the actual figures are painted on 5x5 inches board and the other part is painted on the mat board.
