This painting, created using the tempera paint technique, establishes timeless and intimate connections between painters and designers such as Sonia Delaunay, a pioneer of modernism and European abstract art in the early twentieth century, and the experienced Mestre Ataíde, a painter, sculptor, gilder, and teacher from the Brazilian Baroque period who lived in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. I am intrigued by the coincidental use of a specific set of colors in the works of Delaunay and Ataíde, and these relationships are evident in this set of paintings. Prior to applying the paint to the canvas, the artist conducts a color study in some of these authors' particular works and creates a reference diagram. Then, I establish color relationships, using diluted pigments in the solvent medium, applying color in specific areas, akin to graphic maps, until the saturation limit is reached, and the compactness is nearly complete, layer by layer. This approach differs from the use of tempera paint in the work of the Italian-Brazilian chromatic and abstract painter Alfredo Volpi, who typically applied diluted color in a few layers, allowing the luminous white of the canvas to appear behind.

Hello, I'm Andrea, an architect. I am excited to introduce and make available for sale this art collection by the Brazilian artist Carlos Rezende. Over the years, following his artistic journey has allowed me to witness the growth and evolution of his work. Carlos Rezende (Minas Gerais, 1964, Brazil) is a Multidisciplinary artist, works on projects where elements and practices of painting, sculpture, engraving, drawing, photography and literature are mixed. Rezende studied Architecture at FAU-USP (São Paulo University) and Frescoes and History of Art in Rome. In the year 2015 he received an important Award from Secretaria da Cultura de São Paulo Brazil and Proac for his collection of artist books, presented at the "Syntagmas" exhibition (2016). He organized and produced a series of autoral exhibitions, some of them aimed at the education of elementary students in Brazil since 2002. One of his important works is having worked as draftsman in the execution of a Sol LeWitt’s Wall Drawing at Sao Paulo Brazil in 2004.
