A DANGEROUS MONKEY: The World Went Bananas #2 * Second work in the series, this time focusing on the phone with the banana. For those unfamiliar with English, I explain the name of the work: "The World Went Bananas" is derived from an expression that appeared in the United States that is "going bananas" or "to go bananas". It means something like "going crazy", being extremely angry or happy to the point of losing even reason. According to my research, it would have appeared around the 60's, derived from another expression: "going ape", where ape means, in a half-crooked translation, "great ape". It is very common to say that when someone went crazy, as in the case of attacking, that the subject "went ape shit" ("went crazy like an uncontrolled gorilla"). We can say, for example, that when we see people making huge lines and even fighting for rolls of toilet paper in American markets, they "went bananas!" It is no wonder that the situation has reached this point and may even get worse for a while. As I said in the previous work, civilization - and civility - as we know it is always by a thread or even by a stable internet connection. We get used to having everything very easy, but this gear is supported by extremely intricate systems. As it could not be otherwise, I remember a lot the book "Antifragile", by #NassimNicholasTaleb, that talked about the complexity of these systems - and consequently its fragility before the minimum disruption. Anyway, the current chaos fell very well with the composition and in a next post I will reveal some details that may have gone unnoticed in the work, but that give it a certain "charm", if I can put it that way. * CARRAZEDO, Eric * FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM: @CarrazedoArt
