As a means of documenting the present for the future, the use of current newspaper cutouts for collages has played an important role in my works. This painting is an abstract depiction of a part of the aim of an NGO who sort for support for women's rights. Vision Spring Initiative (VSI), a non-governmental organisation, held a roundtable with journalists in Lagos on the role of the traditional media in advancing the rights of vulnerable women and girls in the country. A Media Interaction with Vision Spring Initiatives on The Rights Of Women And Girls Made Vulnerable by Laws, Policies and Practices; the organisation, in a release, stated that “Every individual is entitled to respect for the dignity of the person and accordingly, no person shall be subjected to torture and inhuman or degrading treatment.” Due to it's importance, this story of this action was archived in this work and also to serve it's contribution to the support of women's rights. Major take-aways from the dialogue were calls on the media to support CSOs’ efforts at ensuring respect for the dignity of every citizen; condemn the action of law enforcement officers, who violate the rights of Nigerians made vulnerable by laws and policies, leading to their abuse and in some cases, jungle justice; and a commitment by journalists present to help further reshape the narratives, working especially with the non-traditional media, such as movies makers and other make belief media.
