About The Artwork
One of the themes I've returned to frequently is games. Sometimes this can simply be a reflection of youth. I also find it an interesting analogy to the playfulness of art making, or complex systems in our everyday world. On a formal note. I've used the sewing machine quite frequently in my work, and I have pieces of fabric in my stuff with a variety of stitch pattern practices. I've always been fond of these unconscious patterns, which I tried to recreate in this piece.

Biography Born, November 3rd 1963 in Evanston, IL. Moved to Wisconsin in 1965 and continue to call that home. I’m constantly amazed by the connections I find across a multitude of disciplines. I’m interested in the concept of creativity in all its manifestations, in how people create in many different disciplines, and in their daily lives. I’ve been sustained by the languages of art. This interest with interdisciplinary studies has probably also guided my choice of medium and process. I have gravitated toward wood construction, assemblage, collage and layering. These methods allow me to combine, overlap, and juxtapose a multitude of interests.
