About The Artwork
I discovered the motif for this image in a rustic park while visiting southern France. The tree form looks almost exactly like the drawing; it is very evocative of a witch and a man, in a fierce disagreement. That is at least my vision of the image in the digital photograph I took at the time. This is the sort of hybrid human-tree image that I have started to find at home in NYC parks, and in my travels. It is a little bit edgy or scary, with a dark vibe which appeals to my sense of adventure and mystery.
