About The Artwork
After spending hours preparing, partaking and watching the Mardi Gras, the two close friends wind down by walking along the jetty. When they return, they literally flop down onto the sands at it's base. One is so exhausted and exhilarated that she rests her upper body on her friend's lap, whilst, at the same time, wriggles her feet in the water's edge. Because the jetty is bordering on the public square, all the bright lights and streamers and other paraphernalia, can still be seen and even highlighted in the reflective waters, making everything, now static, begin to dance again. Even the stranded sea shells appear to be finding a rhythm.
