Inspired by Rembrandt
Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn is recognized for his skilled oil paintings, in which he captured subjects ranging from landscapes and allegorical scenes to self-portraits in exquisite detail. He prospered during the Dutch Golden Age of painting in the 17th century during which several Dutch artists practiced a similar style. Contemporary artists continue to explore such detailed realism, including Jesus Leguizamo, Daniel Coves, and Sara Riches.
