I think that the science is a new religion. Did you’ve noticed that almost all religions in the world are trying to explain basically same thing: our existence on Earth? Where are we coming from? How we even got here? Was it a finger of God or we’ve been sown here by a meteor that once hit the Earth? Maybe religion and science are talking about the same thing, but religion wasn’t able to give better explanation back then. Today, science is way more advanced and can give us better, more solid stories and theories in order to explain our existence. This painting is a part of my latest exhibition (series) Metaphysics. Exhibition was dedicated to the science that finds an order in randomness and abstraction, and I was creating works that are moving away from classic painting with brush strokes. Instead of just painting with a brush I was using stencils, straight, precise lines and grids in order to bring my works to a new level. To give it some kind of order but combine it with my recognizable expression and brush moves. For this one I used bold brush strokes, rich with paint and glass beads medium to enhance the texture. Then I was adding x's and +'s, but with stencil and spray to make a contrast with brush paint. There is also one middle layer that is like a black drawing line over the black background that creates a net over the painting. Painting is framed with thin edge wooden frame in black color that complements the painting and match every type of interior, especially modern. It comes with a hanging string on the back, ready to hang on the wall.

Iceland
Jelena Antić is an Iceland-based visual artist who originally hails from Belgrade, Serbia. She held 7 solo exhibitions and holds a Master’s degree in Painting, Mosaic, and Contemporary Art from the University of Arts in Serbia and is a member of the Icelandic Association of Artists. Her main form of visual expression is through painting but she rejects the general conventions of the medium choosing to avoid specific representations of objects or figures. Much like instrumental music without words or explanation, Her work is best described as a visual representation of feeling both thoughtful and meditative. Her aim is to give the viewers to interpret her work as they see it and to create their own narrative. Antić’s primary influences are informel, abstract expressionism and abstract minimalism inspired by concepts of theoretical physics, philosophy, and contemporary art theory. All her works exhibit a strong personal stamp, deeply influenced by her life and experience.
