Artist Statment In her productions, Zülal Çizmeci focuses on the human mind and questions the mental and physical effects of the individual on all circles in the universe, as well as abstract and concrete problems. She produces collage, mixed media works and paper sculptures. The main material she uses is paper, and he makes analog and digital manipulations with old magazines and photographs, and dry and pastel paints. In addition, she produces sustainable paper sculptures using natural materials such as pigment earth paints, resin adhesives and 23k foil gold, along with waste paper left over from marbling art and collage works. She conveys the conceptual message and criticism of these sculptures with minimal forms. She often expresses the emotions and ideas she wants to emphasize in her works by using the art of marbling. By interrupting the reality of the images, she interprets what is happening in a surreal way from an unexpected perspective. She argues that real change, discovery and transformation must first begin within the individual. She invites the viewer to the area of discovery and questioning with his works in order to be beneficial to herself and the entire chain that comes after her.
